Discounts Or Special Offers on Dental Implants: Marketing Vs Reality

Dental implants are now the standard of care for tooth replacement, improving the dental health of millions of people with missing teeth. Implants have also greatly affected dental economics with an increasing number of dental practices and companies offering their services and products. To gain market share, many dental practices advertise dental implants in the newspaper, with mailers, or on the internet, offering incentives to attract potential patients to their offices. Here are common advertisements:
  • "Implant for $1,095; Abutment & Crown for $950; We Guarantee Successful Placement!"
  • "Implants Starting at $995″
  • "Teeth-in-A-Day"
  • "One-Hour Dental Implants"
  • "No Pain, No Bleeding, No Sutures"
  • "Free implant with purchase of crown"

24 Hours Dental Services Are Already Round-The-Clock!

Out teeth and oral cavity is an important part of our body. It helps us taste and chew the food needed by the body to perform our daily tasks. Eating is perhaps one of the most common and best hobbies to many. But too much of something is always bad, isn't it? Plaque deposition and severe toothaches can happen anytime anywhere. Thankfully, there are 24-hour dentists available to serve the people in a most of the city.
To many, dentists are just tooth-extractors or they help in maintaining whiter teeth. These dentists do so much more than that. Like doctors with specialty, they study the oral cavity well to know what the appropriate treatments when having problems in the mouth. During surgical treatments that concern the dental area, they administer anesthetics-usually local since dental procedures like tooth extraction can be painful. They also give advice to patients on what dental treatment is needed and do appropriate methods to help them flash their million-dollar smile. The work of a 24-hour dentist is the same as those dentists who works during the day however; by comparison, they deal with emergent things once their attention is called.

Are Dental Implants Always Successful

Having dental implants is not an overly complicated surgical procedure, but as with any surgical procedure, there are a few risks, and the success rate is not 100% guaranteed. However, the risks are low for most people, and having implants can be a great way to restore your smile to its former glory. If you think that having dental implants could be right for you, speak to a qualified dental professional so that they can discuss the pros and cons of the procedure with you.
A dental expert will ask to look at your teeth and gums to assess whether the procedure is likely to be successful or not. They may also ask to do an x-ray of your jaw, so that they can assess the structure of the jaw bone itself. For surgery to be successful, there must be enough bone in the recipients jaw, and this bone must be strong enough to support and hold the implant. If your jaw bone is in danger of crumbling around the implant, it is unlikely that the implants will be successful. If the chances of success are low, then the dentists will be unlikely to want to proceed with the surgery, because this could cause unnecessary damage to your mouth and this could risk ruling out other dental strategies. In the unlikely event that you are not a suitable candidate for surgery, your dental care professional will be able to describe other strategies to you which could be more suitable for you.

Teeth In A Day - The Real Truth About Dental Implants

First, dental implants are used as a substitution for tooth roots in areas of the mouth where teeth are missing. The implant is placed in the root to provide a stable foundation for a replacement crown to allow you to bite and chew comfortably and naturally. When teeth are missing, the bone that previously supported those teeth deteriorates. But, the bone can be preserved by replacing missing tooth roots with dental implants. The bone will form a strong bond to the artificial implant and will provide stimulation for the bone.
Implant Supercenters promise what is called "Teeth-in-a-day" or "All-on-4" where the entire top arch of the mouth is supported by only four implants. An experienced clinician would normally recommend the traditional implant method versus doing an "All-on-4" at a Implant Supercenter because the amount of bone needed to support an entire arch of teeth is substantial if you are only using four implants. Because of the amount of bone needed for an "All-on-4" procedure, patients who have worn dentures for an extended period of time are rarely candidates for it. While traditional treatment for upper arches requires at least four implants, lower dentures can be replaced and supported by as little as two implants.

A FAQ Guide to All on 4 Implants, PART 3

Welcome back to our four-part article series on All on 4 implants. In this installment, the third of the series, we shall focus on some of the aesthetic and functional concerns patients frequently raise.
FAQ: Will I be able to eat normally with "All on 4" teeth?
Answer: Yes! In fact, All on 4 implants enable you to eat a much greater variety of foods than false teeth. Because your new teeth are supported by dental implants and not by the underlying gums, as is the case with dentures, you will be able to bite down with much greater force. This enables you to bite into foods that are tough, chewy, crunchy and fibrous and not just soft and processed. One of the greatest problems facing elderly denture-wearers is malnutrition. With All on 4 implants, you can eat all the foods you like.
FAQ: I hate the way my dentures make my mouth look. Does the All on 4 technique offer an improvement on appearance?
Answer: Dentures rely on their bulk to prevent them from moving around in your mouth when you eat and speak, although they only achieve this to a certain degree. Because of this bulk, they tend to push on the lips from inside the mouth, giving them a thin and stretched appearance. This doesn't make for very natural or flattering smile aesthetics! To make matters worse, when you're engaged in conversation, it is quite easy for the person to which you're talking to see your dentures moving around.

What Is The All On Four Implant Technique

The All on Four implant technique is a procedure method that replaces missing teeth with only 4 dental implants. Other names for it include same day smiles and same day teeth. The All on Four technique involves a different angle of implant placement than utilized with traditional implant techniques.

In traditional dental implants they are placed into the jaw at a 90 degree angle. With All on Four implants two of them are still placed at this angle, however, two of them are placed at a 45 degree angle (the rear ones). This allows the bridge that is then attached to be significantly more stable than with the traditional method. The failure rate decreases substantially along with the chance of dislodging. Patients who have insufficient bone for other techniques may be candidates for the All on Four method due to the novel angulation.
Standard implant techniques may necessitate 6 implants to support a full arch with a subsequent 6 months of healing and then a fitted fixed bridge being placed. Additional bone grafting may also be needed, which in the scheme of it can mean more expense from 6 implants versus 4, more dental visits, and potentially more bone grafting.

Why All on Four Denture Implants Is a Better Option

All on four dental implants is the new type of permanent dentures. You can go through this procedure if you wish to end your problems with wearing removable false teeth. Most people think it is time consuming to wear and remove dentures before going to sleep at night. Caring for them also take minutes away from a person's life. When you forget to remove or clean them, it can cause greater health problems.
While most people will adjust to wearing dentures every day, some may never find comfort using them. Here are some of the reasons why all on four denture implants is a much better option.
Aesthetics
The main purpose of dentures and dental implants is to fill in for missing teeth. Before, you can easily tell if a person is wearing dentures by the difference in color. Synthetic products can only do so much to match the look of actual gums and teeth. With all on four dental implants, doctors provide you with a line of four stable implants. This makes it look like the visible set are your natural teeth.
One of the problems people do not notice about false teeth is the Old Lady or Old Man look. The gum shrinks providing wrinkles and sagging skin. This will make you look older even if you are just entering your 30s.

Playing Hide and Seek With Dental Implants

Dental Surgery
When you are going to be the lucky recipient of a dental implant, you are most probably concerned about two things. Firstly, is it going to hurt? Secondly, can people tell I have had a dental implant?
Well both of these questions actually have answers you are going to love. For the pain issue, a local anaesthetic is used during all procedures, so you will not feel a thing. If you do feel minor discomfort afterwards, you can just take off the shelf analgesics. As for people noticing your new dental implant - of course they are not going to know that you have had it done. It will look just like it was there all along. The dental implantologist is a highly skilled professional who will ensure that the implants fit perfectly into your mouth, in more ways than one!
What will the dental implant look like?
That is simple; it will look just like all your other teeth. This is because the implantologist will match the colour of the implant to the colour of your teeth exactly. The crown size will also be made to match both the position of where it is going, as well as to match your other teeth of the same kind.
How is the colour for my crown chosen?

Information on a Dental Veneer Application

Dental Veneers (วีเนียร์ฟันขาว)
A dental veneer is something that is placed over the teeth in your mouth to either improve the way they look, or protect them from being damaged by something else. The first applications for these coverings were so actors could alter their appearance by altering the look of their teeth. The items would not stay on for a very long time, but actors could effectively make their teeth appear to be rotting, or of a different shape while they were wearing them.
Today the dental veneer application will likely stay in place for a period of ten to thirty years, and they are mainly used in cosmetic dentistry to alter the appearance of a person's teeth. The coverings are applied by the dentist and they can either be made from dental porcelain, or composite materials.
A dental veneer that is created from composite materials may be built in the mouth of the patient. The composites may also be created in a dental lab and later bonded to the surface of the teeth using a resin cement to hold them in place. The use of composites gives the dentist the ability to have access to a wider range of tooth colors. The added variety of colors allows the patient to have more aesthetically pleasing results from their dental work.
Many of these cosmetic coverings are made from dental porcelain. The composite materials can be made in labs or even used to build the cover in the mouth of the patient, but the porcelain versions must be constructed in a lab and then placed in the patient's mouth. The covering is bonded to the surface of the tooth with an adhesive designed for this exact purpose.

Welcome back to our four-part article series on the key features and benefits of the "All-on-4TM" protocol. In our previous two articles, we discussed the fact that this "breakthrough" dental implant technique typically avoids the need for bone grafting surgery, saving patients time, money and much discomfort. We also discussed the incredible success rate of the procedure before explaining how it offers patients superior aesthetic outcomes and a far more natural, beautiful and confident smile!
In this article, the third installment of the series, we shall move on to perhaps one of the most important benefits of the "All-on-4TM": one that is unprecedented in the fields of fixed oral rehabilitation and dental implantology.

Basics of Dental Implants - Essential Questions and Answers

Dental Braces

1. What are dental implants?
It is an independent artificial tooth root that is used to replace a natural tooth root that has been lost to accident or disease. These implants are typically placed to secure bridges, partials, dentures and crowns. Implants don't require support from adjacent teeth and thus cause them no harm. Better yet, teeth replaced with these implants look, function, and feel just like natural teeth.
2. Is implant dentistry suitable for me?
Advancements in design and placement protocols of implants have made this gold standard for the replacement of missing teeth for almost everyone. Patients with specific health conditions including uncontrolled diabetes, osteoporosis, or irradiation of the mandible or maxilla for the treatment of cancer, may be at increased risk but they are still candidates and can usually be managed by a highly experienced practitioner.

In our previous article post, we discussed the surgical procedure involved in the placement of All on 4 dental implants and the subsequent affixing of the non-removable prosthetic dental bridge to these implants. In this article, the third installment of a four-part series, we shall explain why such implants offer patients a far more sophisticated and comprehensive solution to tooth loss than traditional tooth replacement technologies, namely removable dentures; or, as they are colloquially known, false teeth.
All on 4 Dental Implants and Removable Dentures
It doesn't take much imagination to understand where removable dentures fall short in their solutions to edentulism (not having a single original adult tooth left) and near-edentulism. For one, as their name suggests, they are removable and therefore come with the ever-present threat of slipping around and falling out.

Dental Implants - All on Four Technique and is This Right For Me?

Dental Braces and Dental Implant
Many patients have asked about heavily marketed implant options such as Teeth-in-an Hour, All-on-Four, or Teeth-in-a- Day. This a procedure where a person with a denture is able to have four implants placed and walk away wearing an implant retained denture replacement.
BE VERY WEARY OF CERTAIN DENTAL IMPLANT "SUPERCENTERS" Who Claim to give this All To You In A Day!
Here are my Expert Opinions:
1) Most marketing efforts on these treatment concepts show a person chewing an apple immediately after surgery. In the most of cases they are using a temporary restoration with the permanent restoration being made in 3 to 4 months.
2) Placing an implant supported restoration immediately is great, and I can do this in many cases, however, it adds considerably to cost, with no additional long term benefits.

As Good As New: Discovering the Magic of Dental Implants

dental braces

A child will always be fond of sweets. He would never miss the opportunity to delight with lollipops, chocolates, and candies. That is why many kids grow up with damaged teeth. Worse, they would already miss teeth or two during their early years. This becomes a problem as a child is growing up. There were only a few ways to treat teeth problems during the past few decades. Well, having a new functional set of teeth would be such a blast, right? Fortunately, as time went by, dentists were able to discover a way to solve this problem. And this is through none other than having a dental implant.
The implantation of prosthetic teeth is by far the best solution to those people who have lost some teeth because of some injury, decay, or disease. According to statistics, the number of people in the country that are suffering from complete tooth loss caused by gum diseases or tooth decay has been increasing. Before, the only way to solve this problem is through having dentures, which can eventually feel a little awkward. This eventually was replaced with the magic of implants but it obliges too many visits to the dentist. Thankfully, today's modern technology provided the field of dentistry the all-on-4 dental implants.

The All on 4 Implants Technique: Changing Lives

Dental Cavities
According to the Center for Disease Control, 30% of adults over the age of 60 have lost all of their original teeth and are in desperate need of All on 4 Implants; the procedure making complete oral rehabilitation in a single dental appointment possible. The All on 4 Implants technique is the brainchild of European implantologist Dr. Paulo Malo who, together with the world's leading dental implant manufacturer Nobel Biocare, devised a comprehensive system for teeth replacement that offers a non-removable (fixed), long-term, immediately functional and highly aesthetic solution to tooth loss. Now, if you are reading this, chances are you or someone close to you is personally considering a future of tooth loss and edentulism (not having any original teeth left). This could be for any of a number of reasons, however, the most pervasive being advanced and acute periodontal (gum) disease. While removable dentures or false teeth have long been the solution to tooth loss, the challenges associated with this traditional teeth replacement technique have compelled dental science to delve deeper for a more comprehensive and permanent solution. That solution is 'All on 4 Implants'. So what are they and how do they work?

Prior to the innovation of All on Four implants, a patient's journey to oral rehabilitation could involve as much as 18 months' worth of consultations, surgeries and recovery periods. The associated medical bills were prohibitively high and the result was that most edentulous (toothless) and near-edentulous patients opted for that archaic tooth replacement technology; removable dentures. The problem with this is that false teeth, as they are colloquially known, are not only inferior in function and aesthetics to dental implants, they are actually damaging to a patient's health, well-being and overall quality of life.
It was only in 1993, when All on Four implants were innovated by European implantologist Dr. Paulo Malo, that many of the challenges and obstacles facing traditional dental implant techniques could be overcome. Nowadays, a new set of beautiful,

Periodontal (gum) disease is characterized as an acute and chronic bacterial infection of the soft tissue surrounding the teeth and because it is so frequently left untreated, it inevitably leads to the loss of bone volume in the jaw and subsequent tooth loss.

Dental Implant Costs for Complete Oral Rehabilitation: Old Implant Techniques Versus All-On-4

Dental Hygiene @ TNCC

In our previous article post on dental implants costs, we began exploring the various ways in which the 'All-on-4' surgical protocol affords patients substantial savings over traditional placement techniques. First of all, it was mentioned that the 'All-on-4', as the name suggests, only requires four implants per jaw for complete oral rehabilitation, whereas the more traditional approaches can require as many as 20! The second way in which this breakthrough protocol affords patients substantial savings on tooth implants costs is in the number of surgeries required for oral rehabilitation.
Dental Implants Costs Savings: Same-Day Results with a Single Surgery
With 20 teeth implants frequently required for traditional implant techniques, patients are often forced to endure a long journey to a full and confident smile (up to a year and a half, in fact).

Competitive Dentist Costs With the 'All-On-4' Protocol

If you have lost one or more of your original teeth and are thinking about investigating dental implants, then naturally, one of your primary concerns is what the dentist cost is likely to be. We are used to the notion that the more sophisticated and advantageous a technology, the more expensive it is. However, with newer implant placement protocols, namely the 'All-on-4', enabling qualified and experienced dentists to perform oral rehabilitation in a single surgery and almost always without the need for bone grafting, nothing could be further from the truth! The 'All-on-4' makes it possible for patients to receive a brand new set of non-removable, immediately functional and aesthetic teeth in as little as a single day and at a much reduced dentist cost! Here's how..

Benefits of All-On-Four Dental Implants

Are you missing one or more teeth or having pockets between your teeth? Imagine if you could have a new functional set of permanent teeth. Surgical implantation of prosthetic teeth is the optimal solution for those who have lost one or more of their teeth either due to decay, disease or injury.
Statistics from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) show that there are over 15,000 US adults age 65 and older who have suffered complete tooth loss (edentulism) due to tooth decay or periodontal (gum) disease.
Until now, the only option for toothless patients has been dentures which can be awkward and result in significant bone loss. Dentures are later replaced with the implant dentistry but it too requires multiple visits to the dentist. Now, all-on-4 dental implants have come as the ultimate advancement in dental technology.

2. The "All-On-4" typically only needs a single surgery as opposed to multiple implant procedures spread out over the course of 12 to 18 months.
3. The "All-On-4" almost always avoids the need for bone grafting surgery; an additional, painful and expensive procedure designed to augment jawbone volume.

The All-On-4 Dental Implant Protocol: Saving Patients on the Cost of Brand New Teeth, PART 2

Welcome to the second installment of this four-part article series on the cost of brand new teeth and how the "All-On-4™" drastically undercuts the costs involved in traditional dental implant protocols. In our previous article post, we mentioned that traditional dental implant procedures could frequently require as many as 10 implants per jaw in order to give patients new teeth. This would equate to 20 implants if a patient needed both their upper and lower sets of teeth replaced. The first significant problem with this was, at $3,000 to $4,000 apiece, the exorbitant cost of having 10 or even 20 dental implants placed!
The second significant problem with this is the fact that there is often not enough bone in the jaws to surgically place 20 dental implants!! This means many will need bone grafting prior to implants being placed in order to add more bone.

How All-on-4 Dental Implants Work

All-on-4 dental implants are a registered trademark of Nobel Biocare that allows four titanium implants to be placed on the anterior maxilla. The All-on-4 places the implants on the anterior maxilla because the jawbone is thickest in this area; thus providing a more secure place for the titanium devices.
All-on-4 dental implants allows the implantation to take place even in the mouths of people who have less than adequate amounts of bone. Most implants of this nature require a large amount of jawbone for the dentist to implant the titanium devices in.
When there are not enough jawbones the dentist will graft bone from other areas of the patient's body to create an adequate amount. This bone grafting and the healing afterwards take between three and six months. Then the patient has to wait an additional three to six months before their implants become stable enough to attach the teeth to.

What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants Drawbacks?

Most dental clinics that perform All-on-4 dental implants have a three step process that each patient goes through. The first thing that all patients must do is complete the diagnostic phase of the treatment. During this time the dentist will take x-rays and do other tests to insure that All-on-4 dental implants are right for you.
The second phase of the All-on-4 dental implants is the surgical phase when the titanium implants are placed next to your jawbone. The final phase of the procedure is when the teeth are placed in position after the surgical phase has healed.
The main complaint that is heard about the All-on-4 dental implants is that they cost a lot more than the standard removable dentures cost. These implants are placed in the mouth with four titanium posts to hold them in position.
