What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants Drawbacks?

Most dental clinics that perform All-on-4 dental implants have a three step process that each patient goes through. The first thing that all patients must do is complete the diagnostic phase of the treatment. During this time the dentist will take x-rays and do other tests to insure that All-on-4 dental implants are right for you.
The second phase of the All-on-4 dental implants is the surgical phase when the titanium implants are placed next to your jawbone. The final phase of the procedure is when the teeth are placed in position after the surgical phase has healed.
The main complaint that is heard about the All-on-4 dental implants is that they cost a lot more than the standard removable dentures cost. These implants are placed in the mouth with four titanium posts to hold them in position.
In order for the dentist to do this they have to remove your existing teeth, surgically implant the titanium pieces, wait for your mouth to heal, and then they load the new teeth onto the titanium posts.
When you get regular dentures the dentist does not have to do as much work to get your replacement teeth ready for you to wear. You also do not get the same benefits from the removable dentures as you do from the implants.
People complain about the amount of time it takes for them to get their final teeth loaded onto their titanium posts. The healing process after these devices are implanted can take up to twelve weeks. If the dentist rushes the loading of the teeth before the healing is complete then the surgery may fail. In order for these devices to work properly they must be allowed to fuse with the jawbone before they are loaded with teeth. Be patient and you will be glad you were.
Another common complaint about these implants is that people have a harder time finding dental clinics that perform this procedure. The good news is that more and more dentist is learning about the implants, and more are starting to offer them to their patients. Unfortunately, this technology is the new kid on the block so not all cities have a dental care clinic that does the procedures yet.
You can go online and find the nearest clinic that performs these procedures, and you can also ask your dentist for a recommendation to a clinic that is doing these procedures. You may have to drive a little to get this done, but the trip is worth it when you have dentures that stay in place without messy adhesives.
The pain that is associated with the surgery is different for each individual. All people handle pain differently so what seems minor to one person may seem major to another. When you speak to the professional about the procedure have them explain in detail about what pain to expect, and how they treat this pain.
