The "All-On-4" Dental Implant Protocol: Saving Patients on the Price for New Teeth, PART 1

Tooth in a Jar, Detail
It's not very often one comes across a newer and more sophisticated technology or procedure that is cheaper than its predecessor. Most of the time, newer models of cars, cell phones or anything really tend to be pricier because of all the added features, snazzier technology and expensive materials used in their manufacturing. So, it frequently comes as a surprise to patients to learn that the "All-On-4" dental implant protocol - the newer and more sophisticated method for teeth replacement - can save them tremendously on the price for new teeth!

We're not talking about a few hundred dollars either. In most cases, the "All-On-4" can save patients up to $25,000 on the cost of dental implants. In more complex cases that would otherwise require bone grafting surgery, the "All-On-4" can save a patient as much as $45,000! Over the course of this four-part article series, we shall be explaining exactly how these incredible new teeth cost savings are possible.
The Price of New Teeth: From as Many as 10 Implants to Only Four
The first clue as to how the "All-On-4" saves patients tens of thousands of dollars on the cost of fixed oral rehabilitation is really in the name. The "All-On-4™" is a dental implant procedure generally recommended to patients who have lost most or all of their natural teeth to decay or gum disease, or who suffer from a failing dentition as a result of these conditions. This revolutionary technique makes it possible for specialists to give patients a brand new set of fixed teeth that look, function and feel very similar to natural teeth.
Previous dental implant protocols were geared to do the same, but in order to give patients new teeth, as many as 10 implants would be required per jaw. If you needed both your upper and lower sets of teeth replaced, you were looking at needing as many as 20 dental implants! There are two significant problems with this. The first one is that each implant costs in the region of $3,000 to $4,000. Multiply that by 20 and you've got a price tag that even Donald Trump might choke on.
The second problem we'll get to in Part 2 of this article series.
The "All-On-4" Difference...
The "All-On-4" by its very design only requires four dental implants per jaw in order to provide patients with a new set of teeth; hence the name of the protocol. Using sophisticated computer imaging software and 3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scans; the best possible locations for four dental implants are strategically determined prior to the procedure. Together, these four dental implants provide a stable and fixed foundation for a customized dental prosthesis, which is carefully fabricated to resemble a full set of natural teeth.
Owing to the strategic placement of dental implants, only four are necessary and this drastically reduces the price of new teeth for patients who suffer from tooth loss and/or edentulism. From 10 implants to only four per jaw; this is just one of the ways the "All-On-4" dental implant protocol makes new teeth cost more affordable and more accessible to Americans!
